Welcome to Bike the Pike
Welcome to Bike the Pike, a community-driven initiative transforming how we experience the Chester Pike Corridor. Spearheaded by the Chester Pike Corridor Improvement Partners (CPCIP)— a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and collaboration of the boroughs of Glenolden, Norwood, Prospect Park, Ridley Park, and Sharon Hill— this project aims to improve safety, accessibility, and quality of life for all.

A Vision for Safer, More Connected Communities
Inspired by the success of similar efforts, like the “Bicyclists Baltimore Avenue” route, Bike the Pike was designed to offer cyclists a safe, low-stress alternative to Chester Pike’s busier streets. The route connects key destinations in our communities, including parks, schools, historic sites, and businesses, fostering a healthier, more connected lifestyle for residents and visitors.
Discover What Makes Bike the Pike Special
What makes Bike the Pike special? It’s more than just a bike route. Along the way, you’ll find thoughtfully designed bike “nodes” equipped with amenities like racks, trees, and rain gardens. Stops include local treasures like Ridley Park Lake and the historic Morton Morton House, with plans for future expansions to even more parks and landmarks.

Sustainability and a Greener Future
This project also reflects our commitment to sustainable living, reducing single-occupancy vehicle traffic, and improving air quality. From beginners to experienced cyclists, Bike the Pike offers something for everyone, creating a pathway to explore, commute, and connect.
